Austin Shaw shares a passionate, distinct sound, pouring himself into the lyrics with the intensity of a man with something to say”

– Innocent Words Magazine

The EP opens with the very personal "Citrine", and although it has a very upbeat feel and infectious chorus it’s lyrics are emotional, honest and personal. The song "I’ve Been Leaning" is a thank you from one lover or friend to another, heartfelt, soul-searching and melodic. Elsewhere, the title track "Felt" has a relaxed, yet infectious vibe. His songs are diaries glowing with warm, intricate layers, featuring catchy guitar hooks and soul-baring lyrics that offer up Shaw’s perspectives on love, loss, longing and self-discovery. A natural improviser and a born collaborator, Shaw’s handcrafted recordings and intimate performances carry on the tradition of the rock poets and storytellers who have inspired him.

The new EP is comprised of selections from his forthcoming album Felt, due out later this summer. Produced by Robert L. Smith (Defy Recordings), the album will also feature the talents of guitarist Larry Saltzman (Paul Simon), drummer Joe Bonadio (Sting), bassist Malcolm Gold and vocalist Clara Lofaro.
